A multihead weigher developed specifically for potatoes and gentle handling of other fruit and vegetables is providing a cost-effective solution for increased packing speeds at Mead Potato Company in Lobinstown, Navan, Co Meath in Ireland.
The new machine has enabled speeds to be increased from 27 packs a minute on existing equipment to nearer 50 packs/min.
Careful design, including a gentle descent into the timing hopper, ensures the product moves quickly through the weigher without the risk of damage .
