Fourpure installs skid-mounted brewery system

Food and drink processing equipment supplier GEA is to install its first UK Craft-Star skid-mounted brewing system at the craft brewer Fourpure Brewing Co in Bermondsey, London as part of a £2M project that will see production capacity increase by 400% to 14M pints (8M litres) a year.

The technology will reduce the time it takes for Fourpure to brew each batch of beer, allowing it to improve quality control while significantly expanding production to meet demand.

The equipment is expected to be fully installed by the end of the summer, with the first brew scheduled for the middle of September.

Fourpure began in 2013 and is led by brothers Dan and Tom Lowe. Last year it invested £1.4M on a canning and packaging line for its core range of beers.

The latest project will allow it to make the best use of its site while expanding production to meet future retail demand. It will also allow the brewery to experiment with new recipes, in readiness for its next expansion early in 2019.
