The new R series of multi-head weighers, launched by Ishida Europe, offers speeds of up to 200 weighs/minute on a 14-head single-discharge machine.

"This speed is thanks to the development of a new algorithm which can perform combination calculations five times faster than previously possible," says Ishida's Torsten Giese.

A Windows XP operating system allows ease of integration and advanced networking capabilities, says the company. Another feature is an enhanced remote control unit which has in-built tutorial assistance and 'ultra-clear' graphics.

Noise levels have been reduced and energy consumption is 50% lower than earlier models.

Also recently introduced by the company are the RRL (Retail Ready Line), described as a complete packing line for fresh foods, and the FFW (Fresh Food Weigher) that enables sticky fresh foods to be weighed automatically using the combination weighing principle.
