We have existing business in carotenoids, which we want to expand with beverage companies by utilising our new food and beverage labs," said Faber.
"We currently have products for cardiovascular health, structural health (bone and joint), and healthy ageing and will likely be bringing in digestive and immune health products next."
He said the company had "the greatest interest in Italy, Germany and the UK for our speciality branded ingredients". Products with the best potential for development included the firm's Artinia fibre for artery health and joint health ingredient NEM.
"Spain is where the existing individually quick frozen carotenoids business is and where we have chosen to develop our European headquarters with a dedicated food and beverage laboratory," he added.
The laboratory is being set up in the new Business Centre for Innovation and Development in the Reus Technoparc.
