Purifunction, a start-up ingredient development company based in northern France, has confirmed its first commercial orders and is powering up for full-scale operation by September 2012.
The business provides advice and practical support on food ingredient identification, optimising purification and processing and product safety and efficiency testing. Partners and clients so far include Roquette, Lesaffre, Ingredia and Copalis.
Purifunction has access to university laboratories in Lille and pilot kit that can process up to 1,000t of material, including facilities for micro and nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, crystallisation and atomisation.
