Cerestar has developed a modified starch that can cut the cost and improve the texture of convenience foods.
C*PulpTex can extend the shelf-life and quality of products as diverse as pizza toppings or mashed potatoes by replacing 25% of key original ingredients.
When added to tomato sauce the starch imparts a pulpiness that enables the tomato paste content to be reduced by 25%. In pizza toppings it also increases the baking stability. In mashed potato, it can replace 5-10% of the base mix .
