New Britain Palm Oil (NBPOL) recently achieved RSPO certification for its mill in Poliamba, Papua New Guinea (PNG), which processes fully traceable, segregated, sustainable palm oil even from smallholders.
Darrel Webber, secretary general of RSPO, said: "7% of annual production capacity is contributed by PNG, which makes it the third largest Certified Sustainable Palm Oil producer in the world, after Indonesia and Malaysia.
"This is a great development for Europe, NBPOL's main market, as the region will benefit from being able to source fully segregated sustainable palm oil."
