Novelty ingredients for instore bakeries

The in-store baking industry is one of the fastest growing bakery sectors in Europe, according to inclusions specialist Pecan Deluxe Candy. The supplier of sauces, fillings, nut pralines, ice cream inclusions and dessert toppings has extended its product range in response to “retailers’ demands for more innovative ingredients”.

The firm says that novelty factor and uniqueness of product is becoming a growing influence on consumers' purchasing decisions.

Pecan Deluxe has developed its 1g solid chocolate monkey and pig faces cake toppers to retain their intricate design details and be stored at ambient temperatures.

In addition, the company's collection of fruit fudges for cakes now include lemon and lime pieces. Despite their bright colours, these bake-stable miniature fudge pieces are made from all-natural flavourings and colourings.
