Top food ingredients trends for 2017: EHL
Four key food ingredient trends will dominate next year, predicted EHL joint md Tasneem Backhouse. These will be: New food regions, Chickpeas rule the roost, Spicing up soups and Meal kits.
The ingredients firm said that demand for foods from exotic global regions had grown, while free-from products had become more popular.
EHL also pointed to millennials as a key market for new ingredient innovation, with 60% of 16–34 year-olds enjoying new cooking trends and products.
