Innova’s Top 10 food and drink trends for 2017

Director of innovation Lu Ann Williams said that the interest in ‘naturalness’ and clean-label continues to feature strongly in next year’s trends.
“It has become somewhat of a running theme through our trends forecasts in recent years,” said Williams. “In 2008, ‘Go Natural’ led our trends list, and since then the theme has featured each year in different forms.
‘Clean and clear’
“This year, clean and clear is a theme weaving throughout the entire list, but is specifically the case for the number one trend, ‘Clean Supreme’.”

Meanwhile, Innova’s trend forecast was the latest of three published in the past month.
Traditional food ingredients and vegetarian products lead market analyst Mintel’s list of the top six global food and drink trends of 2017, while sugar taxes led its European trend report.
