Corn pellets for snack food processors

Last updated on 08-Jul-2011 at 17:18 GMT2011-07-08T17:18:40Z

Limagrain Céréales Ingrédients (LCI) has launched two corn pellets called Dominos and Super Cornitos for snack food manufacturers aiming at natural, clean labels on packs.

"You can boost your product range with natural and premium quality pellets that are crisp, crunchy, tasty and melt-in-the-mouth," said Patricia Panel-Dusséaux, LCI snack products marketing manager. "The shape of these products square or triangle is simple, but each expands slightly differently, curving as it is fried."

The pellet recipe developed consists solely of corn, sugar and salt and can be used to create solid products that are ideal for dipping, said LCI. They have high flavour retention and are suitable for hot air expansion.
