Responsible innovation is the theme of the Food Vision 2015 event, connecting leaders in nutrition and food and drink development, to take place in Cannes, south of France between March 18–20.

Now in its third year, the 2015 programme features global food industry leaders, who will probe the frontier between food innovation, sustainable growth and profitability in the worldwide food and drink market.

Key speakers include: Jonathan Moore, executive chef on Waitrose’s record of food innovation, Elizabeth Johnson on ageing and nutrition and Dr Guy Miller, responsible for work on pioneering medicine. See a snapshot of this year’s line-up at the end of this article.

Specialist nutrition stream

This year’s event – organised by the publisher of this website, William Reed Business Media and sister titles FoodNavigator and NutraIngredients – will include a specialist nutrition stream, running alongside the usual programme of presentations, debates and discussions.

More than 130 of the food industry’s key decision makers attended last year’s event, with more expected this year. The summit is designed to appeal to top food industry executives, including speakers from specialist functional foods and dietary supplements businesses, as well as leaders in research and development and mainstream manufacturing.

“Our programme this year focuses on responsible innovation,”​ said Stephen Daniells, editorial consultant to Vision Events, and senior editor of FoodNavigator-USA and NutraIngredients-USA.  “As consumers become ‘hungry for health’ and governments rebel against the cost of food-related illness, we’ll be looking at the frontier where ‘food that feeds’ becomes ‘food that heals’.

“We will facilitate a meeting of minds between specialists in nutrition and leaders within the mainstream food and drinks market that will encourage collaboration, innovation and new ways of working.”

High-profile industry partners supporting the event for the first time are ingredient giants BASF, GNT Group and Novozymes. Returning partners include DSM, Cosucra and Barry Callebaut.

Food Vision 2015 will be held in the five-star Grand Hyatt Hôtel Martinez, Cannes, France, within an exclusive event suite that combines business, networking and residential facilities.
