Mince’s fat chance

Supermarket minced beef has come under flak for the variety of fat content in samples taken by council trading standards inspectors.

The Local Government Regulation report described the fat content as "increasingly underestimated" and minced beef from supermarkets was higher in fat than that from butchers.

The British Retail Consortium said the report was "misleading".
