Salmon skewers, cheese snacks and breakfast snacks were some of the products recalled last month over reports of undeclared allergens, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

More than 60 different food products have been recalled due to allergens not being listed on their label over the past six months, the FSA has reported on its website.

Morrisons recalled its pack of four Salmon Skewers Marinated in BBQ Dressing on May 27, after it was found their ingredients list did not mention milk correctly as an allergen.

The product was a possible risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The recall applied to 250g packs with all ‘use-by’ dates affected. No other Morrisons products were said to be affected by the recall.

On the same day, 3D Trading announced it was recalling packets of Cheetos Cheddar Jalapeno Crunchy cheese flavoured snacks.

The recall affected 56.7g packs of the snack with a durability marking of ‘guaranteed fresh until May 31’.

Possible health risk

Milk was not correctly listed as an allergen on the snack’s packaging, making it a possible health risk to people with an intolerance or allergy.

A recall of Kellogg’s Special K Biscuit Moments Cioccolato packs was also announced as a precautionary measure by retailer Heron Foods on May 25.

The discount supermarket, based in Melton in the East Riding of Yorkshire, has 243 stores across the north of England and the Midlands.

The product label was not in English, making it a potential health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to soya, milk, wheat or gluten.

Biscuit Moments 125g five packs with best before dates between July 9 and 14 2016 were affected by the recall.

Undeclared allergens

Meanwhile, Lidl recalled four of its products over the past month after the products were found to have undeclared allergens.

Bavarian Style Smoked Cheese with Ham, Bread Baking Mix, Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts and Harvest Basket potato wedges were all found to lack English language allergy information on their packaging.

The allergens found within the food included wheat, rye, gluten, milk and hazelnuts. Industry rules require allergy warnings to be in English.
