New pasteurisation equipment - the first of its kind in the UK - has not only helped a leading soft drinks company meet fresh demands from an existing market, it has also enabled the firm to create a product range within a new brand.
Northumberland-based NICC is the company behind frozen drink Polar Krush and fruit-based drinks Refresh and Refresh Smoothie. Having reviewed a range of equipment, the company chose a Tetra Therm Aseptic Drink 1 unit, supplied by Tetra Pak Processing UK.
With the new production line in place, the company has decided to launch a completely new product under a new brand: Rejuiced. This is a concentrate fruit juice which needs up to seven times less storage, packaging and transport. This means there is up to 50 times less carbon dioxide produced in getting it to the point of sale.
