Business is booming for plasma lubrication and condition-monitoring expert Hydralube. The firm claims the electrical energy savings achieved from using its plasma lubricants offer managers a huge incentive as energy costs continue to rise.
Hydralube's technical director Peter Dryden says one major UK bakery spent over £187,000 a year on replacement mechanical assets. After using Hydralube for 18 months, annual expenditure on mechanical assets was reduced to less than £36,000, levelling out to around £25,000 a year going ahead.
"That customer also saved more than 7% in associated electrical energy costs from using our low friction plasma lubricants," Dryden explains.
The firm says independent friction and wear tests proved that using Hydralube could result in energy savings of over 20%.
