It has replaced the methanol currently used as denaturant in its alcohol-based inks with isopropanol. This involved finding the right balance between all the technical, economic and environmental performances and constraints.
Isopropanol improves operator safety. Inhalation and ingestion of methanol, and skin contact with methanol, are known to be toxic.
