The use of the Lamerholm ImpactManager ID system on its fleet of forklift trucks has made a world of difference to operations at Taypack Potatoes in Scotland.

Taypack grows, procures, grades, washes and packs approximately 130,000t of supermarket potatoes a year. The potatoes are moved around by a fleet of forklift trucks. But until installation of the ImpactManager, unreported damage and unauthorised use of trucks meant that too much time was being spent managing the truck fleet and added to the cost of repairing damage to the factory and the trucks themselves.

The Lamerholm ImpactManager provided the answer. It is a compact unit that is easily mounted in the vehicle cab. It detects impacts and records event details such as date, time and driver identity.

As well as providing impact information, the ImpactManager ID increases operator accountability and improves driver behaviour. In addition to monitoring and recording, the ImpactManager can be programmed to immobilise a truck once an impact has occurred.
