A new brewery on the island of Mersea near Colchester in Essex is the latest independent to announce it will start production in 2005.
Mersea Island Brewery, which has already trialled Pilot Brew Number One, is an offshoot of Mersea Island Vineyard.
Also rolling out the barrels for the first time this year are Danelaw Brewery in Derby, Charlbury Brewery in Oxon, Station House Brewery, Cheshire, Battledown Brewery, Essex, and Dunkery Ales in Somerset.
