Mission Foods, the Mexican-owned Coventry food manufacturer, is to create 50 new jobs, as part of factory expansion plans.
The manufacturer – which makes tortillas and wraps for retail outlets – intends to expand its factory footprint by 576m2.
Mission Foods has engaged Encore Personnel to conduct job candidate assessments, testing, interviews and on-site company inductions for five years.
One of the main problems facing the manufacturer is the time to recruit and induct employees, it said.
Parma Rai, the firm’s production manager, said: “Making sure that all the new members of staff fit into our company culture and knowing that the staff are being looked after is crucial for us here at Mission. Having Encore take over the production recruitment process for such a large number of staff has been crucial in saving us time.”
‘Seasonal increases in product manufacturing’
Stuart Bentley, Coventry branch manager with Encore Personnel, added: “We have worked closely with Mission Foods now for almost five years, helping supply for a number of different positions, mainly for seasonal increases in product manufacturing.”
Mission Foods is owned by Mexican food group Gruma – a leading producer of tortilla and corn flour producers. The firm – based in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico – and has about 19,000 employees and operates 85 plants.
