Goodlife gets cash boost for Xmas

By Rod Addy , 24-Sep-2007

Warrington food manufacturer Goodlife has received £350,000 from Bank of Scotland Corporate, enabling the vegetarian meal producer to step up production for Christmas.

Goodlife, which supplies the top supermarkets and other retailers expects an uplift in sales of its products during the festive season, in line with an increasing trend towards healthy eating.

Nick Hamlett, md of the company, which has a turnover of £5M, said: “Christmas has come early for us and we are delighted with the result. Our operation can now expand and we can be providing lots of hungry people with wholesome and healthy vegetarian meals.

“The funding from the Bank of Scotland has been instrumental. The team listened to our needs and understood the cycle of our industry and the potential for growth. We will look forward to working with the bank in the future.”

Trevor Percival, associate director, Commercial Business for Bank of Scotland Corporate in Liverpool, said: “Goodlife is perfectly placed to take advantage of consumer demand for healthy and wholesome foods.”
