Red Lion Foods, the firm which gives 100% of its post-tax profits to British armed forces charities, is inviting serving personnel to win Christmas dinner for their families.

The firm has pledged to provide Christmas dinner with all the trimmings to two families whose relatives who are serving abroad this Christmas.

Military personnel have been invited to nominate their families and explain why their loved ones should win Christmas dinner this year.

Red Lion sells 80 food products across all of the major supermarkets. Its range includes everyday foods from bacon to cereal, bread to cheese and chocolates to wine.

“The Red Lion team is a small group of people with many years' experience in the food industry, who are passionate about what we do,” according to a statement on the firm’s website. “Our aim is to raise millions of pounds by giving every person in the UK the chance to say thank you to our armed forces and their families every day.”

The group has already given more than £650,000 to charities including Help For Heroes, Royal British Legion, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association, Force Select and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

Red Lion Foods was set up in 2010 and works with a wide range of supplier partners.
