Specialist desserts manufacturer Destiny Foods has completed a merger with global desserts maker La Compagnie des Desserts, to create a £60M-a-year turnover company.

Manchester-based Destiny Foods will now combine its product ranges with La Compagnie des Desserts’ European desserts and patisserie ranges, which included ice cream, flans and French patisserie, it said.

La Compagnie des Desserts was an “ideal” partner for Destiny Foods, claimed its md Richard Watts.

“This is fantastic news for Destiny Foods and its customers,” said Watts. “Both companies share the same ethos and values in providing high quality desserts, excellent customer service and combined manufacturing facilities.

‘Combined manufacturing facilities’

“We will pool our knowledge and product ranges to bring Compagnie des Desserts’ quality French desserts and ice-cream to the UK market, as well as using Compagnie des Desserts’ distribution network to better serve our European customers.”

Destiny Foods supplies breweries, hotels, restaurants, sports venues and Premier League football clubs. With distribution hubs in Manchester, Edinburgh and London, it employs 160 people.

The manufacturer’s new partner has three frozen dessert manufacturing facilities and one ice cream factory in France. It also operates sales departments in the UK, Spain, Switzerland and the US.
