The Hygiene Group is trialling a radical new approach to tackling the problem of pests in imported cocoa beans destined for chocolate production.
The technique, which laces male moths with female pheromones, confuses the males and disrupts mating cycles, said pest control division manager Dave Maxwell. "It's called auto-confusion."
