Coors and effect

07-Jan-2005

Coors Brewers has developed a 2%abv variant of its Carling brand in response to growing concerns over alcohol consumption.

The brewer, which is also behind the lager brands Grolsch and Coors Fine Light, says it took a decade of trials on more than 780 different recipes, at a cost of £2.5m, to come up with C2.

Coors claims the lager differs from other low-alcohol beers because it is naturally brewed at 2%abv to give it the flavour and body of standard strength lagers.
